Catholic Identity and Mission
Sacramental Program
This Sunday, Ally, Ocea, Lilly, Adelin, Chelsey, Indigo, Poppy, Eloise, Matthew and Nathan will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation at St. Mary's Church. Confirmation is a special occasion because it's a time when our students deepen their connection to our faith and feel empowered to live their lives with renewed dedication. The students will be sealed with the Holy Spirit as they commit to follow Jesus more closely.
In preparation for this transformative moment in their spiritual journey, Mrs. Grocke, the APRIM from St. Joseph’s School in Renmark, and I led the students on a Confirmation Retreat Day. It was a day filled with insightful discussions about the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. The students reflected on how these gifts can help them become better individuals and positive community members who shine their light daily. I am extremely proud of each young person I spent time with today. It was lovely to see them enjoy each other's company and connect with each other through the shared experience of preparing for their special day.
Please keep these young people in your thoughts and prayers and join us to celebrate this Sunday morning at 9:00 am.

The Season of Creation
The Season of Creation is celebrated annually from September 1 to October 4. It is a time for Catholics and all people to reflect on the sacredness of our environment and our role in protecting it. Initiated by Pope Francis in 2015, this season starts on the World Day of Prayer for Creation and ends on the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. It emphasises the urgent need for ecological stewardship as outlined in his encyclical Laudato Si. The 2024 theme, "To Hope and Act with Creation," encourages us to foster hope and take meaningful action for our planet’s future. You can support this season by participating in tree planting initiatives and local clean-up events, practising sustainability, reducing waste, conserving energy, and empowering yourself through educational workshops on environmental stewardship. We all are responsible for shining our light to care for our Common Home and ensuring a healthier future for all.

Gracious Creator,
As we enter the Season of Creation, inspire us with hope and a spirit of action. Help us to honour and protect the beauty of Your world.
Guide our efforts to live sustainably and care for all living things and
grant us the wisdom and courage to act with compassion and responsibility.
May our actions deepen our divine connection and reflect our love for You and all creation.
Amen
