SAPSASA Girls' Football

On the 23rd of August, 11 girls from Year 5 and 6, competed in SAPSASA girls’ football at the Berri Oval. Throughout the day, the girls played 6 games and managed to win 1. As the day went on, the girls grew in confidence and worked well as a team. Xanadu was fortunate to be awarded the Team Spirit Award on the day. The girls have trials coming up for the SAPSASA girls football carnival held in Adelaide next term. Good luck to all the girls who are trying out.

Girls' Football Clinics

On Monday week 6, girls from Years 1-6 particpated in football clinics at school with Kayla Mudge. They participated in various skill building activities and had lots of fun.

"I liked kicking the football." - Elsie (Year 1)

"We did games and we were playing with the footballs." - Lilli (Year 1) 

"We learnt how to handball and it was really fun. We learnt how to kick far and learnt more techniques." - Ada (Year 5)

"It was really fun and a good experience. We did lots of drills and a game where you could only handball." - Ally (Year 6)  

Hot Shots Tennis

On Thursday the 29th of August, the Year 3 and 4 students competed at Hot Shots tennis in Barmera. This was a great experience for the students as they got to engage in a coaching clinic followed by some game play. Each team played four games and showed a great level of skill and sportsmanship. At the end of the event each school was awarded two sportsmanship awards. These were won by Laura Geyer and Sriyan Gudipati. A big thank you to Mr Dunn, Kirrilly and Mel P for supporting ths students on the day and giving them this opportunity.
