Sapsasa Athletics Carnival
The majority of Year 4-7 students made the rare trip to Waikerie on Wednesday in Week 9. We were blessed with amazing weather and terrible phone service making communicating across a 3 hectare field quite difficult. Nonetheless, our students performed and behaved brilliantly all day. They were diligent in attending their events on time and independently with minimal reminders meaning there was more time for Mr. Cotter and Miss Roberts to ensure students were seeking shade, sliding on sunnies, slapping on a hat and slopping on sunscreen.
Congratulations to the following students on their podium finishes in their age groups:
Paul D – Shot Put (2nd)
Archie K – Discus (1st)
Paul E – Discus (1st)
Bella G – Discus (3rd)
Constantine V – Long Jump (2nd)
Alhannah K – Long Jump (2nd)
Slater M – 200m (2nd)
Please find the Wrap Up of the day, results and new records attached below as well as some photos from the day.
Lastly, as a school we managed to finish 2nd overall in the Handicap results. Thank you to Cilla Marsden and Roger Cross for their assistance across the day – we and Sapsasa are very much appreciative! And thank you to those parents who drove their own child to come support us on the day – especially those who had to make the early trip for the 800m events.
Yours in sport,
Mr. Luke Cotter
