First Reconciliation
Congratulations to Jack, Van and Jemilla who celebrated the Sacrament of First Reconciliation in St. Mary’s Church on Monday night. Another joyful as members of our school and parish community gathered to support children participating in the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time. Thank you to parents for supporting your children and also to the Parish and School team, including teacher, Kimberley Rosenzweig for the planning and organisation involved.
Loving God,
We ask for your blessings upon or First Reconciliation children. Help us to teach our children that you love us totally and unconditionally. Help us to encourage our children to grow in love and to learn how to say sorry, knowing that you always forgive. Give us the courage to pray with our children and to share our faith with them as we journey together.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
Chrism Mass
Last Wednesday Confirmation candidates Madison, Jack, Nate and Aaron accompanied me and Mrs Oates to Port Pirie to attend the Chrism Mass. During the Mass, the holy oils and sacred chrism, which will be used across the Diocese throughout the year for sacraments such as baptism, confirmation and anointing of the sick was blessed by Bishop Kulczycki and distributed to parishes. It was wonderful to see many of the priests from our diocese celebrating Mass together at Saint Mark's Cathedral.
Holy Week Plays
Congratulations to all of the students on their reverent performances of our Holy Week Plays. Special thanks to Mrs. Singh and all of the students for the outstanding artwork, the hall looked amazing. Thank you to the parents and community members that were able to watch our performance. Today our school retold the Passion of Christ from his triumphant entry into Jerusalem until his final breath on the cross. Jesus’ body was then laid in a tomb and a heavy stone was rolled across.
Our plays will resume next Tuesday at 9:00am, when the Senior Students will retell the resurrection of Jesus. You are most welcome to attend to watch the joyful conclusion of our Easter plays.
