Hi all,

Over the last three weeks, students in Years 2-7 have been participating in lawn bowls during PE. Lawn bowls is a target game that requires sound technique, mental toughness and resilience, along with the ability to focus tightly at the crucial instant. Students were required to apply accuracy and precision to hit stationary and moving targets under both competitive and non-competitive pressure. The aim is for students to be able to transfer a significant amount of what they have learnt into other types of target games, including golf, tenpin bowling and even archery. Ultimately, it is always good to expose young people to sports they might not otherwise have tried outside of school.
