ReLAT
Each year, the year 4 students from Catholic schools all over South Australia participate in the Religious Education Literacy Assessment Tool.
Religious Education (RE) is a core Learning Area in all Catholic schools. It is a foundation for all learning and is integrated into the life of the school through prayer, liturgy and social justice programs.
ReLAT will focus on knowledge content, which is core to the Year 3/ 4 Crossways Religious Education curriculum.
The data from the ReLAT assessment will be collated and used by the school to inform whole-of-school professional learning needs and the continuous improvement of teaching in Religious Education.
Next week, students can practise navigating the test and answering questions. The formal assessment will take place on Tuesday, 12th September.
Please feel free to make time to chat with me if you have any questions.
Year 1 Prayer Service
Yesterday, the Year 1 students and Miss Martin hosted a very special class prayer service themed on Kindness. Kindness is free and can be hugely beneficial to those around us! When we are kind, we can make the world a happier place for everyone. Kindness is contagious; when we do a good deed for another person, they feel motivated to repeat the act. This means that one single act of kindness has the potential to roll through the lives of many. So, let’s spread kindness with everyone we meet. What better way can we live our Call to Community than by showing kindness daily?
Gracious God,
Guide us to live Your goodness and kindness each day.
Help us to choose our words wisely to heal and build up others.
Remind us that our actions express who we are even more than our words. Shape our hearts to be like Yours and guide our hands by Your Spirit to show kindness and compassion to others.
May we love as you love. Let us be good to those who wish us harm, forgive those who need forgiveness, and reach out in kindness to all we meet so they can experience the unconditional love of God.
Amen.
