Year 5/6 Prayer Service  

On Wednesday, the Year 5/6 students and Miss Stewart celebrated their class prayer service themed on Rest and Recuperation (R &R), quite timely as we are about to embark on that time after a very busy term of learning.   R &R are wonderful gifts from God. They invite us to tune into our hearts and listen to God’s call. God accompanies us personally and helps us to relax into this time of grace. R & R are essential components of a healthy lifestyle because they allow our bodies, minds and souls time to repair, rebuild, and strengthen. It is important to prioritise ourselves and enjoy time with those around us that make us happy or spend time doing activities that bring us joy and help us discover a sense of peace. We ‘switch off” and take a break from the usual things we do, providing us with opportunities to learn from and reflect on our experiences. Rest and recuperation is a time to replenish our energy, discover a renewed sense of gratitude and be refreshed and ready to commit to and continue our learning in exciting ways.  

Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to you.  

Bless us in our time of rest, help us to stop and connect, to You, to our friends and families, and to our inner needs.  

Touch our soul with Your compassion for others;  

touch our hearts with Your courage and infinite Love for all;  

touch my minds with Your Wisdom. 

Most loving Heart of Jesus, bring us health in body and spirit so that we are refreshed and ready for the next chapter in our lives.
